Painted Churches in the Troodos Region

This site comprises ten painted churches in the Troodos Region. Initially there were 9 but another one was added later. I though that was lucky to have one postcard with one of the churches, now I'm luckier to have a postcard with the first 9 churches inscribed!

Agios Nikolaos Church, Kakopetria
This region is characterized by one of the largest groups of churches and monasteries of the former Byzantine Empire. The complex of 10 monuments included on the World Heritage List, all richly decorated with murals, provides an overview of Byzantine and post-Byzantine painting in Cyprus. They range from small churches whose rural architectural style is in stark contrast to their highly refined decoration, to monasteries such as that of St John Lampadistis. - in: http://whc.unesco.org/en/list/351/

Gardens and Castle at Kroměříž

If a castle is always good, a castle with baroque gardens is awesome! And these gardens at Kroměříž look absolutely beautiful!

Kroměříž Castle

The Kroměříž Castle (CzechZámek Kroměříž) in KroměřížCzech Republic, used to be the principal residence of the bishops and (since 1777) archbishops of Olomouc.
The first residence on the site was founded by bishop Stanislas Thurzo in 1497. The building was in a Late Gothic style, with a modicum of Renaissance detail. During the Thirty Years' War, the castle was sacked by the Swedish army (1643).

It was not until 1664 that a bishop from the powerful Liechtenstein family charged architect Filiberto Lucchese with renovating the palace in a Baroque style. The chief monument of Lucchese's work in Kroměříž is the Pleasure Garden in front of the castle. Upon Lucchese's death in 1666, Giovanni Pietro Tencalla completed his work on the formal garden and had the palace rebuilt in a style reminiscent of the Turinese school to which he belonged. - in: wikipedia

L'viv – the Ensemble of the Historic Centre

I would love to make a trip through all Europe and visit two or three cities of each country. Lviv would definitely be one of those cities!

The city of L''viv, founded in the late Middle Ages, was a flourishing administrative, religious and commercial centre for several centuries.

The medieval urban topography has been preserved virtually intact (in particular, there is evidence of the different ethnic communities who lived there), along with many fine Baroque and later buildings. in: http://whc.unesco.org/en/list/865

Lviv Latin Cathedral
This postcard is an official sent by Maria

The Archcathedral Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, usually called simply the Latin Cathedral (UkrainianЛати́нський собо́р) is a 14th-century Roman Catholic cathedral in Lviv, western Ukraine. It is located in the city's Old Town, in the south western corner of the market square, called Cathedral Square.
The first church built on this site was a small wooden Roman Catholic church dedicated to the Holy Trinity, built in 1344 and lost in a fire six years later. In 1360, the king Casimir III of Poland founded the construction of the present day church, built in Gothic style, for a cathedral of the newly created Latin diocese. - in: wikipedia
