Gulf of Porto: Calanche of Piana, Gulf of Girolata, Scandola Reserve

When I decided to collect postcards of UNESCO sites I always thought that my first UNESCO from France would be Paris, the first from India would be the Taj Mahal, the first from the USA would be the Statue of Liberty, the first from Australia would be the Sydney Opera House... It wasn't. Of any of these countries! My first French UNESCO site arrived from Corsica, shows the Scandola Reserve and it was sent by Martine.

Scandola Reserve
The nature reserve, which is part of the Regional Natural Park of Corsica, occupies the Scandola peninsula, an impressive, porphyritic rock mass. The vegetation is an outstanding example of scrubland. Seagulls, cormorants and sea eagles can be found there. The clear waters, with their islets and inaccessible caves, host a rich marine life. - in: http://whc.unesco.org/en/list/258/
